Water

Water is the lifeblood of Mother Earth and the lifeblood of all living things.

And all over the world governments, big business and big agriculture are trying to monopolize it, profit from it, or contaminate it for their own purposes. It is these purposes that have caused ground water to become undrinkable, aquifers to be sucked dry, fish populations to become extinct or on the brink of extinction, mega crops grown in places where crops were never meant to be grown, and cities to be built in places where cities were never meant to be built. Fracking, dams, water bottling, and a myriad of other factors, as well as climate change, have left little water for fish and poor communities.

Almost 1 out of 10 people in the world can’t drink clean water. Even if you don’t die because of the contaminated water you’ll probably get sick. How big is the problem with not having access to clean water? Well, if someone gets sick he or she wouldn’t be able to work and feed their family. Being sick also means extra cost, needs for doctors, medicine etc. For people around the world, this is often not available. In the end, they are left with medical costs to treat conditions caused by bad water quality, a cost they can’t afford, conditions that are caused by the lack of clean water that they also can’t afford.
