Dear Educators,
The Winnemem Wintu Tribe is pleased to offer you our Run4Salmon Curriculum – tailored to the 4th grade, with updates and a new format in 2023.
Like the Run4Salmon prayer journey, our Run4Salmon Curriculum continues to grow. The interdisciplinary lessons weave past and present-day Indigenous efforts to preserve and restore land, rivers, culture and salmon. These lessons can be taught in succession or incorporated into social studies, language arts, and science units throughout the year.
Please note that a high school level lesson plan is available separately as a free PDF download. This Teacher’s Guide was developed by the Sacred Land Film Project for their film on the Winnemem Wintu in the Standing on Sacred Ground series.
Hii Chala Besken! In using our lessons in your classroom, you become a part of the Run4Salmon with us, so thank you! We hope you and your students enjoy using these resources in your classroom.
Shorter, user-friendly lessons for more independent learning.
